WEB Down 20 Points in Game 2: Denver Nuggets Storm Back for Stunning Victory

Jamal Murray's Buzzer-Beater Lifts Nuggets

In a thrilling Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, the Denver Nuggets overcame a 20-point deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers. Jamal Murray emerged as the hero, hitting a stunning 15-foot buzzer-beater over Anthony Davis to seal the victory.

A Sensational Comeback

The Nuggets trailed by double digits throughout the majority of the game. However, they never lost their composure, gradually chipping away at the Lakers' lead. With just over three minutes remaining and the Lakers holding a 110-106 advantage, Nikola Jokic tied the game with a thunderous dunk.

The two teams traded baskets in the final minutes, setting the stage for Murray's heroics. With just seconds remaining, Murray received the ball on the wing. He drove towards the basket and pulled up for a fadeaway shot over Davis. The ball swished through the net as the buzzer sounded, sending the Nuggets' bench and crowd into a frenzy.

Heavy Lifting for Denver

Murray's buzzer-beater was the culmination of a gritty performance by the entire Nuggets team. Jokic finished with 32 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Aaron Gordon added 22 points and 10 rebounds.

The Nuggets' defense also played a key role in the victory. They held the Lakers to just 40.8% shooting from the field and forced 15 turnovers. Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 25 points, but he was limited to just 10 attempts due to Denver's swarming defense.

With the victory, the Nuggets tie the series at 1-1 and head back to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Thursday.
